Are you considering converting your Conservatory Roof?

Conservatory Roof Conversion in Burwell, Mr & Mrs Burling

Posted by Clare Whitehall on Oct 12, 2017

Projects 4 Roofing installed a conservatory roof conversion for us and we couldn’t be more delighted with the end result.

Our conservatory had always been a no go area in the summer because the sun blazed down directly through the roof and made it far too hot. We have had it for more than 20 years but have not been able to enjoy the view over our pond from the conservatory during the summer months, until now. Even with blinds it was too hot to sit in there. On the other hand, in winter we had to turn the heating up or it was too cold.

When we originally built the conservatory I had also hoped we could use it for extra dining space or a small ‘relaxing’ area that we could sit in as an alternative to our large sitting room.

I’m so glad we went ahead with the conversion. We have been able to sit in here on a sunny afternoon to read. And I’m thinking of making it a ‘snug’ for our teenage grandchildren with a TV in the corner. When the whole family come over to visit we have enough room for everyone to spread out now.

I love the plastered ceiling and spotlights and the effect is still very light, just without the overheating problems. We also have new fascias and guttering on the outside, which has brought the look right up to date. The workmen took just five days from start to finish and were very polite. They were really quick when they took the roof off and made it watertight – it was just one morning.

We are very happy with the result. It has given us back a room in our house and we would recommend Projects 4 Roofing to anyone.
