Projects4Roofing 2022 lessons learned

Written by Clare Whitehall | Dec 30, 2022

As we approach the end of every calendar year, the management team at Projects4Roofing like to sit down and review how the year has turned out.

To keep our business in line with the market and evolving customer needs, we like to review our key achievements, the lessons learned, our customer feedback, and the opportunities for improvement.

After our review session, we make sure we take our main learnings into the next calendar year to help get us off to the best possible start.

Curious about what came out of our 2022 review? Read on to find out!

A Guardian Warm Roof is the best option to insulate your conservatory roof

If you open any newspaper or switch on any news channel at the minute, it’s filled with news about the state of the UK economy and the financial difficulties that many people are facing.

We’re very mindful of this, and we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality conservatory roof replacement service that is accessible to the majority of homeowners.

So although we’ve been proud Guardian Warm Roof installers for years, we looked to see if we could deliver the same high-quality conservatory roof replacement projects at a reduced cost in light of the current economic climate.

We reviewed cheaper tiles, different films, and more affordable insulating panels.

However, the lesson learned is that cheaper is not always best!

After a lot of evaluation, our team came to the conclusion that the best value solution for delivering a high-quality insulated conservatory transformation is still the Guardian Warm Roof.

The only effective way to insulate your conservatory and be able to use it all year round is by installing a high-quality solid insulated roof that uses materials that last.

The Guardian Warm Roof is energy efficient, meets all current building regulations (including the recently updated Part L, which deals with energy transfer and thermal efficiency), and has far superior thermal properties than any other products on the market.

Customers are not interested in a hard sell

When many people picture a home improvement salesperson, they probably think of someone knocking on their door in a cheap suit, delivering some hard selling tactics and manipulative ‘one-time only offers’ designed to get you to sign up on the day.

But these days are long gone.

Customers are savvier today. They are wise to all these gimmicks and are wary of inviting salespeople into their homes.

We reviewed our customer feedback, and one of the things that really stood out was the comments about the friendliness of our conservatory roof specialists and how consultative and ‘non-pushy’ they were.

This is precisely the way the sales process should be!

So our key lesson learned is that we should continue to pride ourselves on being conservatory roof specialists that you can trust and will never push a sale.

When discussing solid conservatory roof transformations with customers, our team is advised to keep all sales visits short and friendly and follow up with a complete and comprehensive written quotation.

Our insulated conservatory quotations are some of the best in the business, written in plain simple English and including all the details homeowners need to make an informed decision on their solid conservatory roof replacement.

We are anti-hard-sell, and all our quotations are valid for an entire year. There is no pressure to decide in a short space of time. We actually encourage people to get multiple quotes from companies offering similar solid conservatory roof offerings.

Customers want a clear schedule of work

When you have workmen at your house installing any kind of home improvement, we know it can be disruptive to your daily life.

There’s no getting around the fact that when you’re having an insulated conservatory installed, there is going to be noise, there is going to be dust, and things will be a little bit different during the project.

But we can commit to being considerate and keeping any disruption to a minimum. We’ll be clear on the work schedule for installing your insulated conservatory so you can plan around it. This is a lesson learned from previous annual reviews.

We’re deeply proud of the number of customers commenting on our friendly and helpful staff.
At Projects4Roofing, we provide a clear schedule to each of our customers and stick to it so they know who is on-site and what is happening each day.

Following a company review in 2021, included in every schedule is a clean-down and sign-off with the installation manager at the end of the project, so you can start enjoying your new insulated conservatory right away.

Reviews are very important

We’re always pleased when we receive five-star company reviews and testimonials from our customers. We see it as a sign of a well-done job!

But what we didn’t realise was how important our company reviews were in giving new potential customers the confidence to get in touch with us and talk about their conservatory transformation needs.

When we reviewed our customer leads and feedback, we were delighted to see that our Which? Trusted Trader endorsement, our feedback on Trust A Trader, and the testimonials from previous projects on our website were important in making customers decide that we were the right choice for their solid roof conservatory project.

At Projects4Roofing, we strive to grow and improve every year. And after taking the lessons learned from our 2022 review, 2023 will not be the exception.
