If you’ve recently decided to transform your conservatory, you’ll most likely be filled with excitement and ideas for how you might use the new space in your home.
But you’re also likely to have a few questions:
- How long will it take?
- What is the process going to be like?
- Who is going to be working in my home?
In this post, we’ll help put your mind at ease by running through the process of a typical Projects4Roofing solid roof conservatory project from start to finish.
The decision process
Making a decision on any home transformation project takes a lot of thought and consideration.
At Projects4Roofing, we understand and respect this.
To help you make an informed decision while you’re evaluating options for your conservatory roof replacement, we’ve put together a number of valuable resources:
We’d also recommend visiting the Guardian Warm Roof website for further details on the solid conservatory roof that we install.
We’re also happy to answer any questions you might have on a short telephone consultation call.
If you decide that Projects4Roofing is one of the companies you’d like to consider for your conservatory roof replacement project, the next step is to arrange a visit to your home at a time that is convenient for you.
One of our team will visit your property, chat with you, run through the options available, and get all the information we need to help us put together an accurate fixed price quotation for your solid roof conservatory.
Our home appointments typically last no more than an hour.
We'll send over our quotation within 24 hours of your home visit.
You don’t have to worry about a hard sell or any manipulative ‘time-limited offers’ to force you into making a decision quickly.
All of our quotes are clear, transparent, and price guaranteed for 12 months. So you can take all the time you need to decide if we’re the right partner for you.
If you decide to choose Projects4Roofing as your conservatory roof replacement partner, you’ll be asked to fill out a short-order confirmation form and pay the initial deposit.
And then your project can get underway!
Planning your conservatory transformation
The next step in your conservatory roof replacement process is for our installations manager, Tom, to visit your home and take the exact measurements of your conservatory.
Once we have the specific details we need, we’ll be able to start the process of manufacturing your solid conservatory roof.
We know you'll have many questions about how long the installation will take and the potential impact it might have on your daily life.
It's vital for you to have peace of mind.
That's why we send over a detailed schedule of work a week before your installation is due to begin.
This schedule of work outlines the work that will be completed each day and the people that are likely to be present on your property.
The day before your conservatory roof replacement project is due to begin, we’ll send you a quick e-mail confirming the details of your installation team and what time you can expect them to arrive.
Transforming your conservatory
When it comes to installation day for your conservatory roof replacement, you’ll probably feel a mixture of excitement and nerves.
Our friendly team will put you at ease.
Each member of the installation team will introduce themselves, and they will be happy to help you move any remaining furniture out of your conservatory.
Day one
Once your conservatory is clear of obstacles, we can get started with our site set-up. We’ll make sure your floor is covered and protected and that any open doorways are covered to prevent dust from getting into other areas of your home.
Your prefabricated solid conservatory roof will arrive and will be temporarily stored in your garden as we remove your old glass or polycarbonate roof.
It's important that we work quickly to get your new roof in place on the first day to make sure your conservatory is watertight by the time we finish.
Day 2
On the second day of your conservatory roof replacement, we’ll begin with your ‘first fix’ electrics. This involves our installation team pulling through wires and cables to the positions you've agreed you'd like your lights and switches.
Day two is also typically when someone from your local council building control will visit your property to inspect the roof structure, and its insulation and ensure it meets all relevant building regulations.
Day 3 and 4
The solid conservatory roofs installed by Projects4Roofing are of the highest quality and include a number of different layers.
On days three and four, we’ll continue installing your conservatory roof, making sure it has the correct roof insulation, ventilation, and tiling.
By the end of day four, the exterior of your new insulated conservatory roof will be completed.
Day 5
On day five, our focus is on making sure the interior of your new conservatory looks as good as the outside. Our team of specialist plasterers will work on the ceiling of your conservatory (and walls if agreed) to make sure it looks smooth and pristine with a quality finish.
Day 6
On day six you can enjoy some peace and quiet. None of our installation team will be present at your home, while we wait for the plaster to dry.
Day 7
On the final day of your conservatory roof replacement project, we’ll start with your ‘second fix’ electrics. This means we’ll install your light fittings and fixtures in their agreed places.
Once everything is in place, our installation manager will visit your home to complete to carry out a clean-down and sign off on the project. Also, the Building Inspector from your local area council will visit for a final inspection before issuing your Completion certificate.
Our team will conduct a thorough clean-up of your conservatory and leave you in peace to enjoy your new room.
So there you have it.
A typical Projects4Roofing conservatory roof replacement project is completed within 8 days.
Final arrangements
Once your conservatory roof replacement project has been completed, all that is left is for you to make your final agreed payment.
